Holidays are a good time to consider going vegetarian/vegan
Each year in the U.S., 333 million turkeys are slaughtered for food. After having spent the first 16 weeks of their lives packed tightly into sheds filled with toxic fumes from their excrement, their beaks and toes severed to reduce the damage they cause each other due to stress, they are then hung upside down on a conveyer belt, their heads are taken off with an electric saw and finally, they are dumped into scalding water (often still conscious) in order to strip their feathers.

Becoming vegetarian/vegan is the most important and effective decision one can make that alleviates the suffering of billions of animals and affirms life and the spirit of giving thanks. In addition, a vegetarian/vegan diet respects ALL animals’ lives by celebrating sentient beings, protecting the earth’s resources and safeguarding our personal health. For these reasons, promoting an animal friendly diet is part of PAWS' mission.
