Duties: Shelter Transport Team members are responsible for transporting PAWS animals safely from one destination to another.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely crate the animals for transport.
  • Transport dogs and cats from shelters within Washington State to PAWS Lynnwood Campus.
  • Transport dogs and cats from airports within Washington State to PAWS Lynnwood Campus. Airports include the following:
    • Boeing Field in Seattle
    • Paine Field in Everett
    • Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Sea-Tac
  • Transport dogs and cats to and from local veterinary hospitals.
  • Load and unload animals upon arrival, ensuring the animals are placed in a safe enclosure.

Time Commitment: Flexible

Qualifications:

  • Possess a valid Washington State driver’s license.
  • Hold automobile insurance.
  • Own a vehicle that meets the requirements for the safe transportation of animals.
  • No outstanding vehicle violations.
  • CAS volunteer in a direct animal care position for a minimum of three months.
  • Have a current, signed copy of the Volunteer Contract and the Volunteer Waiver & Release form on file.
  • Access to internet and email.

  • Volunteer Orientation
  • Cat Skills Class
  • Dog Skills Class

Reports to: Companion Animal Services Programs Manager
