In memory of Agatha - August 28, 2004

I'd like to talk about Agatha, my mystery cat. She walked into my life and heart at 5 weeks old in West Hollywood, California. She was a favorite to everyone who met her. Her beauty and peaceful, some might
say snobbish, manner, made her both attractive and a curiosity to onlookers. You can look for yourself! We traveled together in a cargo van, she and I, up the I-5 six years ago this August to create a new life in Washington state. Pet owners I've heard from recently shared with me some of the stories only known to themselves and their pet. Agatha kept me company and shared an important transition in my life
giving me comfort and unconditional affection along the way.
She knew my joys and fears, my hopes and dreams. Agatha traveled with me to conferences and accepted bravely the odd hours I sometimes kept due to work, play, and volunteer activities, and no matter what, she always woke me in the morning and greeted me at the door at night, accepting the attention and love I could share with her as it came. In the end, her heart was just too tired to continue and mine is forever warmed by her presence that will remain there always. I love you and miss you Agatha. Thank you for giving me so much.
