Between 2 and 3 years old, Duncan is a loveable, spirited goof who loves car rides, going to the local huge leash-free dog park, walking, playing and getting treats. He's a rescued mutt from southern California, where his owners, Jamie and Mollie, used to live. He may be part Shiba Inu and perhaps Dachshund or Basset Hound, which sounds rather weird, but you should see him run—he outruns dogs twice his size. Now he's in Western Washington, enjoying his large, wooded and invisibly fenced yard, where he investigates anything and everything. First thing in the morning, Duncan snuggles his cold nose into Jamie's face or under the covers to coax him up for his breakfast and morning walk. For a runaway that had been abused, he's responded with great courage and love to our training, and is a real pleasure to have in our family.
