Nearly six years ago my partner and I adopted a Black Lab/Chow mix. His name at the time was "Bert"...We fell in love with his squeezable teddy bear looks.

We also renamed him Kuma, Japanese for Bear. Well, life on the homefront has been on the verge of chaos and hilarity ever since!

Kuma's favorite pastimes are swimming, hiking, snowshoeing and camping. I thought Chow's were supposed to be couch potatoes?! Not him...We also just had kids move in next door and unbeknownst to us, Kuma LOVES children! So his new past time is being dressed up with socks and hats and cuddling on the floor for cartoons! We should have kept the name "BERT"! Kuma is a wonderful companion and we wanted to drop a line to express our gratitude.
