In memory of Rosebud - September 26, 2005
A very special kitty had adopted me about 8 weeks ago, she came to my back porch and
was hungry and would eat like she had not been fed for days. She came inside and
she must of felt that she was home because she did not go any further from the back porch
after that. During this 8 week period she slept, ate and went to the kitty litter
box and that was all. She did not play like cats usually do and her face was swollen
but she seemed ok. She was a very affectionate cat and her favorite place to sleep
was right next to my computer chair on a soft ottoman. As the weeks went on she
seemed to be getting worse as far as the facial swelling, so I called a 24 hour vet
and I was told if I brought her in that I would have to sign a release form because
she was a stray. If I signed the form then I would not be able to call and ask how
she was doing and I just could not do that and I did not have the money to get medical
attention for her. A very special angel then came to her aid and that angel is a very
good friend of mine that told me she would help out with the vet bill. She made a call
and I took her into a vet that only treats cats and what they found was like nothing
they had ever seen before. She had a massive infection that caused the swelling of
her face and so they drained the fluid for about 4 days. They could not believe
that this young kitty was still alive due to this infection. They were elated and
had never seen anything like this before in all the years they had been treating cats.
I was so happy that this precious kitty had made it through and I felt that she is
just a miracle kitty. The angel that had helped her then decided to adopt her and I
was so happy that she found a place where she could call home. I did not mind my
angel of a friend wanting to adopt her because she had saved her life and I already
have 3 cats of my own. The happiness of this very special miracle kitty making it
through such a traumatic ordeal was very short lived. She had only spent one night
at her new home and had to go back to the vet because she needed to take 4 different
kinds of medicine 3 X a day and it was much easier for the vet to give her the meds.
When she went back to the vet they had discovered a small lump in her neck area and it
was cancer and they did not think she would live much longer. This precious little
miracle kitty had made it through so much and then God decided she was a rose and God will
take the roses and not the weeds and so this very special colorful rose is now in God's rose
garden. This stray kitty made a very special place in my heart and my heart is feeling much
sadness but yet I know she will no longer suffer. I know that wishing that she was not a rose
is selfish but sometimes rosebuds need to still grow and then they become a rose, and this
special kitty was still a rosebud in my eyes but she was a rose in God's eye.
