Volunteering Opportunities at PAWS

Community Outreach Volunteer

Position Description: Do you really want to help animals but are short on time? PAWS is looking for friendly, outgoing, animal-loving Community Outreach Volunteers to represent PAWS at fairs and festivals around Puget Sound during the spring, summer and fall. Outreach Volunteers answer questions about the work we do at PAWS, hand out educational materials, and tell people about our upcoming PAWS events to benefit the animals. This position is a great alternative (or addition) to a weekly volunteer commitment, students can gain great Public Affairs experience, and it can be a really fun way to support animals!

Dates Available: Spring, summer and fall--dates vary

Shifts: 2-5 hour shifts (depending on current event schedule)

Time Commitment: Sat/Sun/some weekdays

Location: Around Puget Sound

Training Required: Training includes an orientation and tour of PAWS, how to set up an outreach booth, and tips on talking to the public. A training manual is provided. Potential volunteers have a choice of attending a weekend or weekday training session in April or May.
