Feline Transport Team

Position Description: Nearly half of all of the cats adopted from PAWS are adopted from our Cat City facility in Greenwood, Seattle. Feline Transport Team members transport cats and kittens from Lynnwood to Greenwood as well as from Greenwood to Lynnwood. Between the months of April and December, we make as many as 10 transports a week. Volunteers use their own vehicle and gas for these transports. Duties include: socializing and comforting the cats; transporting cats to offsite locations; providing for the cats safety at all times during the transport; using the correct transport carriers and equipment; monitoring behavior of cats before transporting; and ensuring the paperwork of each cat is correct and also transported to the offsite location. Feline Transport Team Members must have their own insured vehicle and a valid Washington driver's license.

Dates Available: year round

Shifts: This is an on-call position, and requires a 3 month commitment.

Location: Varies

Training Required: All volunteers must attend a four hour volunteer orientation before starting their position. The orientation covers each of the volunteer positions at the PAWS Companion Animal Shelter in detail, and explains the overall objectives of PAWS as an organization. This orientation is held two times per month at the shelter in Lynnwood. PAWS trains all volunteers, no previous experience is necessary. Training sessions are 1-2 hours, set up at time of orientation. Additional training is offered, but not mandatory.
