PAWS has been aware of this website for some time, and is quite disturbed by the content and pictures found on the site. The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) investigated the origin of the site when they were alerted to it in December, 2000. HSUS found that the site was a hoax created by a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) who had registered it at his school under a false name. MIT removed the site from their server on December 22, 2000. The student has since found a host that will allow the Bonsai Kitten website.

Please do not contact the web master who created the website (but DO contact the Internet Service Provider), to say that allowing this kind of content on their server is shameful. The person who created this site THRIVES from positive AND negative attention he has received about this sick website.
