Kids Who CareSM

The nationally recognized Kids Who CareSM program is now available in-person!

Kids Who CareSM is a six-lesson live course for fourth-grade classes. Students explore a variety of complex animal issues through hands-on projects, reading, writing, games, and more. Kids Who CareSM utilizes best practices in inquiry-based learning to foster critical thinking skills and empathy development in students. Students learn how to coexist with wild and domestic animals in their community and are motivated to take compassionate action for animals and the environment.

Grade Level: 4th grade

Location:  In-person in your classroom. Available for schools throughout Snohomish County.

Program Length: One lesson per week for six weeks, 60 minutes each

• Lesson 1: Understanding Animals — Pets and Wild Animals
• Lesson 2: Responsible Pet Care
— Pet Needs, Spay and Neuter, Overpopulation
• Lesson 3: Helping Pets in Need
— Helping Strays, Neglect/Abuse (includes Shiloh), Animal Safety
• Lesson 4: Understanding Wildlife
— Habitats, Human Impacts on Wild Animals
• Lesson 5: Responsibility Toward Wildlife
— Issues Facing Wildlife, Ways to Help
• Lesson 6: Bringing it All Together
—  Humane Living

Cost: $250 per classroom for in-person program*
