Bald Eagle

December 11, 2019

The patient of the week is a juvenile Bald Eagle. She fractured her pelvis earlier this year while attempting her first flight from the nest. This young eagle didn’t recover in time to be reunited with her parents for hunting lessons. However, the next best place for her to learn from adults is on the Skagit River where Bald Eagles migrate to forage on spawned out salmon. She was released after 105 days in care with one other juvenile eagle earlier this month.
