Long-eared Myotis
March 3, 2020
PAWS is currently providing treatment for a White Nose Syndrome (WNS) positive Long-eared Myotis (bat). WNS is a truly devastating disease caused by a fungal infection that has killed millions of bats in the eastern U.S. and has only recently been detected in Washington State (2016). Other than treatments, we are providing supportive care and optimal caging to hopefully cure this individual. Check out Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife’s page on WNS to learn more about the disease in Washington State.
