Yellow-bellied Marmot

We recently received a Yellow-bellied Marmot that was found in a semi-truck trailer from Provo, Utah! This stowaway arrived thin and had some fur loss over her hind quarters. The fur loss could be natural due to recently emerging from hibernation, but we are testing and proactively treating for skin parasites. Currently we are providing food and supportive care. While this individual came from out of state and will be released back to her home, Yellow-bellied Marmots are found east of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State.
