American Black Bear

May, 20, 2020

We recently released seven American Black Bears back to the wild! These yearlings had been in our care for 40-367 days and are now able to fend for themselves in the wild. The siblings that we received as orphans in 2019 weighed 8 pounds, estimated about three months old, and were released weighing over 100 pounds! The male was 175! These bears were collared by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife for continued surveillance and research.
