Peregrine Falcon
July 8, 2020
This female Peregrine Falcon fell from her nest a little too early. She was at least 1 week from flying and was down in a dangerous area under the West Seattle Bridge. One of her siblings died earlier when struck by a vehicle, so members of the Urban Raptor Conservancy rescued and transported her to us. We provided the proper nutrients and conditions she needed to finish growing up and start flying like a falcon. Last week, she was released within direct view of her family. She looked strong in her first flight back home and was spotted by her sibling immediately. The next day members of the Urban Raptor Conservancy watched the two siblings fly together and then perch on a ledge under the bridge. Check out a few more photos from the Seattle Times!
