Golden Eagle
September 16, 2020
Golden Eagles are rare patients for us at PAWS as they primarily inhabit areas on the east side of Washington State. This patient was rescued out of the Methow River near Twisp, WA by a woman and her daughter and admitted to Sarvey Wildlife Center. Sarvey stabilized the bird and then transferred him to PAWS for continued care. He is suffering from a soft tissue injury to his carpus (wrist) which prevents him from flying. His wing is currently wrapped to protect the injured area while it heals, and he receives regular physical therapy sessions to maintain range of motion. We hope this second-year bird will show improvement once his wrap is removed.
