Orphaned River Otter
September 9, 2020
This young River Otter was found curled up next to a sprinkler in a backyard in Renton. She was weak and thin. Otters usually don’t leave their mothers until they are 8-10 months old, so she was too young to be on her own. Her thin body condition confirmed that she wasn’t ready to forage by herself. She will need some time to get bigger and stronger before she is ready to return to the wild.
