Seattle Peregrine Falcon
June 16, 2021
Many in Seattle know of the peregrine falcon nest up on the 1201 3rd Ave building downtown. Falcons started nesting there in 1994, and the nest was active yet again this year. The young recently fledged (left the nest) and have been moving further from their original building. One of the females, unfortunately, got herself into trouble on a nearby rooftop balcony. She hit a window and fractured a bone in her left-wing. A member of the Urban Raptor Conservancy rescued her and brought her to the Wildlife Center, where she is currently in care.
