Landslide Eagle

February 23, 2022

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife rescued a young bald eagle from a landslide in early January.

As the site was initially unstable, the bird was not discovered for 6 days after the injury. The eagle suffered a fractured ulna in his right wing and a fractured femur in his left leg. Both fractures appear to be healing well. No lameness was noted in the last vet exam nor any issues with range of motion in the injured wing. We are hopeful that he will make a full recovery, and we can get him back home to Raymond, WA.

Special thanks to Twin Harbors Wildlife Center for stabilizing the eagle and providing care for the first week of rehabilitation.
