Short-tailed Weasel

PAWS Wildlife Center just released an orphaned weasel that was raised in the facility’s nursery! The short-tailed weasel was brought to PAWS by a King County homeowner after their cat brought it inside. Weasels are savvy, agile predators that hunt inside the burrows of their mouse-sized prey. Since the tiny female weasel was only about five weeks old at intake, the rehabilitation team provided care for several weeks until it was conditioned to successfully hunt and protect itself in the wild.
